Senior Assembly - Term 1, Week 8

Image
It was our first Senior Assembly for Term One today and it was a pleasure to award the following students with class certificates. Congratulations also to all our Athletics Day and Tee Ball Champions. Looks like ice-cream all round tonight! Darion for the impressive effort and attention to detail you have shown in creating your collage self-portrait. Yvonne for your active learner attitude to challenge yourself and always do your best in your learning. You are a pleasure to teach. Jacob L  for all the time and effort you put into your Statistical Investigation Rich Task. You took on the advanced challenge with a positive attitude and a determination to your best.

Breakers Coaching Programme

Today, we had our fist session with Jordan and The Breakers Basketball Coaching Programme. It started out in the classroom with a focus on values. We looked at what values we held highly amongst our friends. What was interesting to note was the qualities we held so high with our friends were the values we felt we had in us as a friend. Then we moved onto the more practical side of things on the basketball court. We learnt the skill of shooting (key point the two letters L and R that we make with our shooting arm) and played a few games where we could apply the skills we had just learnt. Jordan, our Breakers coach, is fantastic - so energetic and motivating - the class just loved him. We can't wait for our next 3 sessions over the next few weeks!

Senior Athletics Day

Image
Thanks to Mr Moore, all the Teachers and Mother Nature for providing such an amazing day for Senior Athletics this year. As always, it was a highlight of the year. It is so wonderful to see the children challenging themselves, participating and striving to do their best. So neat to hear them cheering each other on too.

Extreme Edge

Communication, participation, problem solving, stepping outside our comfort zone, perseverance are just a few of the key skills we worked on today when we visited Extreme Edge. What an amazing trip. My highlights? Definitely seeing the children challenge themselves and encouraging each other to keep going just little bit higher!
